Hi all! I know I have been MIA (on the blog and in real life) but I have been working two jobs for the past few months to save up for the road trip Jason and I took last week. And let me tell you … it was worth every late night, every crappy tip, and my hair smelling like fried chicken 24/7 because our trip was absolutely incredible.
I will be posting a long, detailed post about our trip but I thought I would let you in on the highlight of it now.. I GOT ENGAGED.
Yeah! I was taken completely by surprise. My wonderful boyfriend, Jason, is now my wonderful fiancé! I could probably write a million posts about how amazing this is but, I will save the mushy stuff for later!
On one of the last days of our big road trip, we visited The Grand Canyon. Jason has been there and hiked it before but I didn’t have the slightest clue about how beautiful it was! We parked at one of the pull offs to get a good view of it but it was SO crowded. Jason found a little trail that led to the bottom of the canyon and Matt (our great friend and traveling partner) and myself followed. We went down a ways and came to a beautiful spot with a STUNNING view of the canyon. We spent a lot of time there just taking it in. While Matt and I were talking to another group of travelers, Jason walked further down the canyon. Little did I know, he was mustering up the courage to ask me to be his wife! Once our new friends left, Jason returned to us and asked Matt to take some photos. I did my typical pose and smile like I have a million other times with Jason while Matt took the photo. Then he leaned in and told me he loved me. I looked at him, confused, and told him I loved him, too. Then he got on one knee and asked me to marry him! I answered with a breathy ‘Yeah’ and the biggest smile because I was trying to hold back my tears of joy. I threw my arms around him then he placed the most gorgeous, perfect, platinum ring on my finger.
[Pictured Above] The last moment of Jason being my boyfriend. This was right before he proposed! Unfortunately we don’t have any photos of the proposal because Jason didn’t have a chance to warn Matt. He was just as shocked as I was! That’s okay though, we will always have the memory! You can tell I genuinely had no idea this was going to happen based on my outfit choice.. neon floral leggings and tee that didn’t even close to match (insert laughing/crying emoji here). Thankfully he isn’t marrying me for my outfit choices 😉
I get to marry the love of my life and I could not be more excited. He is everything I could ever want in a husband and more. I knew I wanted to marry him after just one month of dating him and here we are two years later actually doing it (or planning to do it .. two years from now!).
[Pictured Above] Me being obnoxious about my ring.
I can’t wait to build my life with this amazing man. He always supports my crazy ideas and dreams, is my voice of reason, dries my tears, and is my complete and total opposite but still loves me. Being his wife will be the most incredible journey and I couldn’t be more excited.
Time to plan a wedding!
